Healthy Eating (I Swear) / Alimentación Saludable (Yo Juro)

La versión español está después de la versión inglés.

I HAVE BEEN "eating healthy" lately (well, healthy-er). I've been doing so well that I've resolved my life-long problem with reflux and am no longer taking medication. I know it's hard to believe because I regularly share photos of the delicious and sinful desserts I enjoy. However, everything in moderation.

So, today, I'm moderating my own blog post on my recent week of special desserts. I obviously have not been suffering from deprivation.

Obviamente no he sufrido privaciones.

I had never had fig ice cream (or cheese ice cream...) until moving to Spain. This was out of this world. I wish Primavera would open an ice cream parlour. They only serve ice creams they make themselves and they are beyond belief.

  3. WHY can't these goodies be shipped to meeeeee?

  4. You look great in your new profile pic, so clearly it's working. I know the struggle. I don't think I can ever quit cold turkey, but as long as I eat these kinds of goodies in moderation, I can fight off the demons that compel me to shove my face full of delicious sugar.

I have no trouble with moderation and would hate the idea of being forced to completely give up something I love... but I would if I had to. Thanks regarding the pic. I took it all because I was wearing my favorite new shirt.

I really have been better than I make it seem. Almost no bread or potatoes. Minimal peppers and onions. Minimal tomatoes. Minimal spice. I'm lucky I don't have to swear off anything completely.

  8. Keep up the healthy eating! It's coffee that does you in acid reflux, not treats!

I'm grateful that with the other changes I've made I can still have my morning coffee without suffering!

  9. It's a well-known fact that desserts do not cause acid reflux. Vegetables do. Look it up on Wikipedia if you don't believe me!!!

What's great is bread, potatoes, peppers, and onions do me more harm to me than desserts. So, desserts in moderation (plus), LOTS of vegetables of the right kind, and I'm doing well!

  11. Fresh fig ice cream oh my!
    Want!
I wondered about your bodily reactions to all this sugar and carbs.
    Now we know.
As of Aug 1st we cut out desserts with meals.
Only can break the rule once a month ~ this month Bumbleberry crisp with van. ice cream.
Guess what tomorrow is Nov 1st!
    A new month!
I'll be good and wait for the right time to devour a luscious dessert, somewhere out there!

It's really the carbs (starchy carbs) that are the worst for me. So far so good with the way I've been eating.
