Color My World / Colorea Mi Mundo

La versión español está después de la versión inglés.

THESE MAY NOT all be outfits I'd wear, nor combinations I'd ... um ... combine, but I have grown to love them and I'm grateful to all these wanderers who continue to add color and contrast to my life. Unlike so much that's going on around the world, these differences don't feel to me like they're insurmountable.

MY NEW LOOK: I SAW THIS IN THE WINDOW AND I JUST HAD TO HAVE IT.
MI NUEVA MIRADA: VI ESTO EN LA VENTANA Y SÓLO TENÍA QUE TENERLO.

I'm trying to figure out what you mean by my roots. Do I come from a long line of Snake Oil Salesmen?

  3. Remember the "bleeding Madras" craze? These guys look like they're wearing a knock-off. Hey, but it's all about comfort. Except for that last one. A new hunting outfit?

I remember that craze. I was young. I had one shirt. I got over it fast.

  4. These aren't the worst I have seen , but still couldn't do it. I still can't get pass the wearing of plaid top and bottom.........

Not even if the plaids match and have a matching satchel? Like my new outfit.

  5. Stripes with plaid? No. Checks with plaid? No. But Plaid on Plaid? I think sometimes it works.
    No ...... seriously!

I used to think none of it worked. You've won me over. (Well, except the combination in photo 4 makes me dizzy.)

  6. These combos aren't too bad Mitchell. I love your new look! I think maybe you need snazzier shoes though.
    Have a good evening.

I agree. I thought the shoes were a big disappointment. Also, I'm going to do without the down-filled vest.

  7. See, WOMEN know not to combine patterned material. Both the women in these photos paired a patterned top with plain white/cream shorts. Why do MEN not understand this basic fashion rule? It's not hard!

In this day's images, you could be right. But, in general, I've found women to be as "daring" as men.

  8. I do remember noticing, when I lived in Paris, that there was unexpected pairing of patterns like this... as long as the colors worked, the patterns were no issue. Sometimes, it worked. I see this in French interior design, too... somehow, though, it comes off better in a living room :)
Awww... what the heck, eh? It brings color to your world, and these folks are at a point in life when they are enjoying relaxing... at least they're not tossing paper towels at people who have lost their homes to a hurricane, right?

Too late! But I have better shoes and I'm not wearing the quilted vest. Elmer Fudd! That's what our friend said yesterday, too.

  10. I'm trying to think of a word for your new look, Mitchell, though words fail me. Let's see...It's fitting, it's you, it's simply fabulous. That's a lie. But it IS fitting.

The shoes in the window were a really bad choice. I'm trying to find the perfect pair. They should clearly be ankle boots. Maybe orange suede.
