"Matt, what was the best thing you saw today?" asked Uncle San Geraldo.
"Uncle Jerry... we were in the park... and a squirrel came this close to me," Matt gushed ecstatically holding his hand inches away from his face.
Matt and his wife Lindy are currently in Washington D.C. for a little winter break. Lindy sent this photo and caption. Matt's still irresistible.
Matt sigue siendo irresistible.

ReplyDeleteLina:
DeleteThe highlight again of the trip to the US capitol... Squirrels!
the more things change, the more things remain the same. such a tame squirrel!
ReplyDeleteanne marie:
DeleteCity squirrels. They come right up and beg.
Is it the SAME squirrel?
ReplyDelete=)
Bob:
DeleteI had the same thought. I'm sure it is. Squirrels live 40 years or more, don't they!?!
Lots of nuts in DC to keep the squirrels happy.
ReplyDeleteTravel:
DeleteDon't you wish they'd hide some of the nuts and forget where they put them?
Have those boys just come out of playing in 'The Sound of Music'? (Drapes?!!!)
ReplyDeleteRaybeard:
DeleteKitchen curtains. The Servants' Story.
I'm surprised the squirrel was friendly, they never stay close around here.
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteVery common in big cities with lots of people feeding them. They walk right up to you looking for a hand-out. That's what had Matt so excited all those years ago.
Still photogenic, too!
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteYeah, he's adorable.
Everyone knows that Presidents can't compete with SQUIRRELS! Nowhere near the same glamour.
ReplyDeleteDebra:
DeleteAgreed. And those were the Reagan Years. Squirrels! Now? I'd pet a rat.
I thought the first pic was one of Jerry!!
ReplyDeleteHow perfect for this to go full circle for Matt!
Jim:
DeleteThat happens a lot with Jerry and Matt photos. Matt and Lindy always make us happy.
I love the fact you two are such family people x
ReplyDeleteJohn:
DeleteThanks for that. We are lucky to have some exceptional family. And Matt and Lindy are so special. When I grow up, I want to be like Matt.
Glad to know I'm not the only squirrel lover around.
ReplyDeletemistress maddie:
DeleteLindy would have taken this one home if she could.
All those monuments and they were amazed by a squirrel? Our son was amazed by half a cockroach he spotted in a curb in D.C. Actually, it was a cricket.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteIt's like giving a child a new toy for Christmas. All they play with is the box. (Are you SURE it was a cricket?)
Co-inky~dinky ~~ loves ~ co-inky-dinkys!
ReplyDeleteRon:
DeleteNo co-inky-dink. The squirrel has been waiting for 31 years for Matt's return.
