"lovely bird; beautiful plumage!" - said in a monty python voice
ReplyDeletebut EW EW EW! in a restaurant!
anne marie:
DeleteYeah, that's what we thought. And it was clearly not deceased... thankfully.
LOL @ anne marie!
ReplyDeleteDebra:
DeleteOne of my favorite Monty Python bits.
Fabulous feather-pet. I trust it's been house-trained. (Bet it's a noisy little chatterbox!)
ReplyDeleteRaybeard:
DeleteI think it must be fairly young. But it was already getting a bit noisy. It did chatter quite a bit and got very loud at one point.
hohoho
ReplyDeleteIt took a minute for me to connect the dots and enjoy the title
Bad cafes would not last a week here in AZ as amateur critics would execrate them on Yelp.
Spo:
DeleteThe critics are very different here. But then just about everyplace serves coffee in addition to whatever food they have.
pet owners who bring them places they shouldn't usually have little respect for their animals. I would never have left my dog alone while taking her out anyway regardless of her obedience to commands and training. I saw a dog have a panic attack after its owner went to go out to his car to get something.
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteThat was the feeling I had. This guy clearly loved the macaw, showed it lots of affection, but I thought it was a lack of respect, too.
Oh how terribly embarrassing is that about the English or would be if I felt at all English. For after many years of absence from that niggardly isle and mainly because of their ignorant behaviour to my partner, we no longer visit.
ReplyDeleteHeron:
DeleteIt can be very angering. Obviously, not everyone is like that, but it's much more common than I'd like to see.
Poor bird....too bad it wasn't released while the owner was outside!!
ReplyDeleteJim:
DeleteI had a hard time seeing it, no matter how much affection the owner showed it.
If you buy a coffee maker, I'll get you some delicious Cuban coffee😉 Hoe about this reward for "cooking" 😁
ReplyDeleteLina:
DeleteAnd then you need to come up every morning and make the coffee!!!
It's a beautiful bird, but I don't think it belongs in a restaurant.
ReplyDeleteStephen:
DeleteDitto. I'm often stunned by what restaurant staff and honors think is acceptable.
The worst part is that macaws are wild animals and should not be pets, much less be taken into a restaurant. These birds live for a long time and I imagine this one has imprinted on its "owner". There is a fair amount of illegal parrot trade in my part of the world and it is heart-breaking; nests are raided to grab young birds before they have fledged and many die in the process. A gorgeous bird and it looks healthy, so at least his owner seems to take care of it. Sad, never-the-less.
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteWe had a hand-reared Yellow-naped Amazon parrot (that WE hand-reared). It came from a breeder in Washington, D.C. and we got it when it was 11 weeks old. I loved that bird but I would never, ever have an exotic bird as a pet again... unless it was a rescue.
Polly want a krumkake?
ReplyDeleteWalt the Fourth:
DeleteI'll bet Polly would.
That chain is pretty sad.
ReplyDeleteThe tail-swooshed butter is pretty sad, too ;)
Judy:
DeleteFor me, the whole scene was pretty sad.
