O Little Town / O Pequeño Pueblo

HERE'S AN IRREVERENT look at our impressive Municipal Nativity Scene (called a belén, which means Bethlehem) located on Plaza del Ayuntamiento (City Hall Plaza; the old City Hall is now the Hotel Consistorial and the new City Hall is on Plaza de España) in Fuengirola's town center.

THE BELÉN BEING WATCHED OVER BY ISABELLA AND FERDINAND (RIGHT).
EL BELÉN SIENDO OBSERVADO POR LOS REYES CATOLICOS (A LA DERECHA).
I WANT WHAT HE'S SMOKING — AND HIS TENT.
QUIERO LO QUE ÉL ESTÁ FUMANDO — Y SU TIENDA.

"OY, SO ADORABLE!"
"¡AY (EN YIDIS), QUE LINDO!"

I THOUGHT THEY WERE SHOOTING CRAPS.
PENSÉ QUE ESTABAN JUGANDO DADOS.
WHAT'S GOING ON UPSTAIRS?
¿QUÉ ESTÁ PASANDO ARRIBA?
TRYING TO GET A ROOM AT THE INN, HAVING NO IDEA WHAT'S GOING ON UPSTAIRS.
INTENTANDO DE OBTENER UNA HABITACIÓN EN LA POSADA, SIN TENER IDEA LO QUE ESTÁ PASANDO ARRIBA.
ALL FOR ME?
¿TODO PARA MI?

DUDO, LOOK! ¡MORE BIRDS!
¡DUDO, MIRA! ¡MÁS PÁJAROS!

Dudo had been posted at the drain hole. When Moose noticed the birds flying all around, he ran out, too. Dudo did NOT want company. He can be like that.

Well, Joseph claimed an angel visited him during the night. But we've all said THAT at some time in our lives (if we're lucky).

  3. An amazing level of detail - illicit affair and all.

Yeah, Joseph described that as the night he was visited by an angel. Poetic.

It's great to see it outside, but I prefer not having to look through glass.

Believe it or not, that's nothing compared to some that I've seen since moving to Spain. Sevilla had some incredible ones.

  8. Do they have the same layout each year or change it up? Dudo is hoping for his very own midnight visit from a feathered creature.

This was arranged entirely differently from last year, and I found it much easier to view it all.

I hope I never stop finding the wonder in all this. The boys send kisses back. They just had their afternoon treats and are now chasing each other and their toys around the house.
