The White And The Green / El Blanco Y El Verde

WE STAYED AT the Hotel Blanco y Verde (White and Green Hotel) in Conil de la Frontera. I suppose it's got that name because Conil is a Pueblo Blanco (white village) and the hotel wraps around a surprisingly paradise-like interior garden (green). It's a funky, comfortable hotel with, according to Tere, the best restaurant in all of Conil. After our lunch there, I wouldn't argue. I had a revuelto (sort of a Spanish scramble) with cod (bacalao) that was without a doubt the best revuelto I've ever had. And I love revueltos. We would have had dinner there Monday night, but the restaurant is closed on Mondays. Just as well, though. We would have missed out on Bar Juan Maria (yesterday's post).

If Nora turns out anything like Tere when she grows up, the world will be a better place. Tere is one of those very special, very rare individuals.

  6. Mentioning hotels, I don't think I'll ever stay at one again. I really liked our AirBnB when we stayed in DC. I also enjoyed how you don't have a hive of people all over the place.

Unless it's a very long stay, I prefer hotels. No cooking. They make the beds and clean the room every day. The restaurant did get busier that day but never mobbed. It was a Tuesday afternoon. I imagine July and August will be jam packed!

Although it looks sort of like scrambled eggs, it tastes nothing like it (and the texture is very different, too). I LOVE them and Jerry has made them.
