Spring In Summer / Primavera En Verano

La versión español está después de la primera foto.

I'VE MENTIONED BEFORE that one of our favorite places for dinner here in Los Boliches in Fuengirola is Restaurante Primavera. Primavera means spring in both Italian and Spanish, and that's what it is, a breath of spring. Great food. All products are fresh and organic and all dishes, including desserts are made in-house. Always a warm welcome and wonderful service. Another of those very special and rare places where we're treated like family. The staff have become our friends.

And if you''re lucky, Fran will "grate your parmesan."

FRAN AND HIS FRESH PARMESAN.

Y si tienes suerte, Fran "rallará tu parmesano".

  3. I agree with Bob and Jennifer. Fran can grate my parmesan anytime, any place! I don't even like parmesan all that much, but for Fran I can fake it. I want to yank his hair, is that so wrong? Wait, was this a food post?

Ohhhh, stream of consciousness. A hilarious peak inside your head. And, no, this wasn't REALLY a food post. I mean, did you look at Fran? Oh, yeah, you did. (Did I mention he's a part-time fireman?)

    2. Ooh, a fireman! Balder Half is a Deputy Fire Marshal. He's in prevention not suppression but he is oh so sexy in his dress uniform! He knows a lot of firemen and takes pictures. Life is good!

  4. I figured Spanish and Italian share a lot of words. Probably makes it easier to be bilingual in Europe when one language isn't drastically different.

English is the weird one. Germanic in foundation (Anglo-Saxons to thank there) and Latin roots in advanced vocab (thanks William the Conqueror and his Old Norman French)

I first studied Spanish when I was a kid. Then in college I started Italian. I would get really confused because I wasn't never quite sure if the word was supposed to be the same or if I was just mixing up the languages. Some words are identical. Some words have nothing in common.

Oh, he could for certain. As I mentioned to Deedles previously, he's also a part-time fireman. He could MELT your parmesan.

So true. And he's not alone at Primavera in his abilities to grate one's parmesan. He's just the only one always willing to be photographed.

We've been very fortunate. And when we find them, we stay with them... unless we move.
