Another Succulent Sketch? / ¿Otro Esbozo Suculento?

A CACTUS HAS been in glorious bloom on the terrace. I was going to ask San Geraldo to do a sketch, but then I remembered the succulent sketch he did last week (click here), took another look at the plant on the table, and said to myself, "Oh, balls! Maybe I'll just share some photos."

Tal vez solo comparta algunas fotos".

I’ve seen them blooming in nurseries but never at home.

That was one of the things that amazed us in Southern California. People would say the desert was brown and dead. But they just didn’t look closely.

  5. My image of a cactus is the type that Snoopy's brother Spike used to stand next to in the desert. Not nearly as beautiful as the real thing.

  6. Some very attractive pink flowers there and I guess that the spikes nicely prevent any hand from picking them off for a table decoration ?

Even Dudo and Moose avoid using this one as a back scratcher.

I’m hoping we get blooms on our other cacti.

  8. Very pretty indeed. Not that Jerry's sketch was not, it's just that his drawing was, er... interesting.

I was disappointed that he didn’t attempt to sketch this one.

  9. Obviously not a "christmas cactus." Perhaps a "hanukkah cactus?"

We have two Christmas cacti. They never bloom! This was a Thanksgiving cactus I suppose.
