On Another Level / En Otro Plano

IN CASE YOU'RE wondering (after all my whining), I'm feeling much better. Actually great. Probably a virus followed too closely by the trip to New York. Yada yada yada... Except that I seem to be suffering since September with sciatica. I have a scan in a couple of weeks and will know for sure, but it does seem pretty obvious. Tylenol, exercise, and stretching help a lot. So that's what I'm doing. That and making really dramatic faces and noises whenever I do something that pains me. I decided the other day that I needed to mix up my daily walks. Walking along the beach only offers level ground. So, I headed uphill. And what goes up must come down. It's good to look at things from a different vantage point. (Sometimes, unfortunately, it doesn't make a difference.)

  1. As a restorative tonic and for complete recovery from your ailments, I recommend 'Pussy Galore', of which you're already in stock, I see.

It works. Dudo sometimes expects me to lie in bed with him on my lap for hours. Not great for the sciatica but worth the sacrifice.

Swallows flit and fly and land on the drain pipes that protrude from the drain holes. Sometimes they walk through. Dudo's hoping.

  4. I really like the Hawaiian shirt and the shorts. Just not together.

I like the shirt, though not for me. The shorts? I'm not a fan of the nautical theme in men's clothing. And especially not when worn together with goose flesh.

  5. I am envious of your choices for walking routes with such wonderful views and scenery, both natural and human-made. Dudo has tunnel vision; I am impressed with his focus and dedication.

There are so many more paths to take. I tend to stick to the beach when it's warm because I like to take my shirt off on those days and I won't do that anywhere but right along the beach. (I wouldn't want to look like a tourist.)

  6. Are there any heated swimming pools near you because it is great exercise for the back, failing that a Chiropractor ?

We've got a pool, but it's not heated. I know some resorts with heated pools. Hmmm... maybe a chiropractor. Thanks.
