THE KID BROTHER called me on FaceTime today and we talked for 20 minutes. I said, "Hey! It's working again. Did you fix it yourself or did you get help?"
He said, "Don't talk about fixing it." Pause... "It's fixed."
Um... OK... "Did you figure out the problem?"
"No."
"Did you get someone to fix it?"
"No. It's fixed."
"All by itself?"
"No."
Alrighty then. Everything is back to normal. Or as normal as it was in this photo from 1969 with big sister Dale and the Kid Brother.
"So, Chuck, how's the weather?"
"Nice."
EL HERMANITO ME llamó con FaceTime hoy y hablamos 20 minutos. Yo dije, "¡Oye! FaceTime está funcionando de nuevo. ¿Lo arreglaste tú mismo o recibiste ayuda?"
Él dijo: "No hables sobre arreglarlo". Pausa ... "Está arreglado".
Um ... OK ... "¿Has descubierto el problema?"
"No."
"¿Conseguiste a alguien para arreglarlo?"
"No. Está arreglado".
"¿Todo por sí mismo?"
"No."
De acuerdo entonces. Todo ha vuelto a la normalidad. O tan normal como lo fue en 1969 en la foto de hermana Dale y el Hermanito.
"Entonces, Chuck, ¿cómo está el clima?"
"Bueno."

He could have given you the hour long, turn by turn description of getting it back working. We set up video chat on my middle brothers phone when I was in Florida last week, he hasn't used it yet. When he does, I better be prepared for the turn by turn version.

DeleteI don't know which is worse. Chuck could/would never give an hour-long, turn-by-turn description of anything. In different ways, it seems conversation with our brothers is like pulling teeth. Yours is a long, slow, painful extraction!
The kid brother a man of a few words. Maybe sometimes it's better that way.

DeleteHe CAN ramble on and on, but it's never in a continuous flow nor in complete sentences. He usually leaves us guessing. Directness is not one of his prominent traits.
