THERE ARE SO many people in town for the weekend to enjoy the beautiful weather.
Blue skies. Sunshine. Manageable breezes. An especially glorious day today.
I wish they'd all go the hell home!
So far, this has not been one of my better days mood-wise. So I'll just share all the beautiful things we bought yesterday at Viveros Guzman, our favorite garden center. We drove there in hopes of finding one specific plant, adenium obesum (also known as, Sabi star, kudu, mock azalea, impala lily, and desert rose), because we love it's sculptural swollen basal caudex (the trunk). We selected two, a red and a pink. And, of course, more.
I didn't even go for a walk today. I was afraid of what I might do if someone got in my way. I told the Kid Brother who said, "You better not leave the house, wise guy."

THE BOYS SNIFFED BUT DIDN'T SAMPLE THE ANTI-MOSQUITO SWEET BASIL (FOR PEDRO AND KATHLEEN). LOS CHICOS OLFATEARON PERO NO COMIERON LA ALBAHACA DULCE ANTIMOSQUITOS (PARA PEDRO Y KATHLEEN). |

I wise person knows when to stay in and vegetate. I'm so wise, I'm turning into algae! Sending you hugs thru the cosmos, because it is safer than in person sometimes :)
ReplyDeleteDeedles:
DeleteI feel so wise. I would have hugged YOU ... even yesterday. Thanks!
moose is making sure you did the job well. nice plants!
ReplyDeleteanne marie:
DeleteThe "farm" is mostly Jerry's responsibility. I, like Dudo and Moose, mostly inspect.
Love the plant inspectors making sure everything is fine with the new purchases.
ReplyDeletecheers, parsnip
Parsnip:
DeleteDudo doesn't hesitate. The minute anything new arrives... even a bottle of wine, he has to check it out. Moose follows.
Ha! The kid brother always has the on-point comment, eh? And the furr-ball boys bring the extra ounce of joy :)
ReplyDeleteJudy:
DeleteI simply told him I was in a bad mood and thought I might punch somebody if they got in my way. He had the answer.
There may be some danger of becoming plant hoarders if you two keep this up. I recently saw some photos of the dessert rose trees in their native habitat and they are wonderful with those bulbous trunks.
ReplyDeleteWilma:
DeleteWe had a desert rose in San Diego and loved it. So happy to have two here. Our terrace appears to be an ideal spot for them. We actually have LESS plants than we had before, but we could very easily become plant hoarders (and we always do).
Well, if the cats approve, you must have done good purchases. I swear, you have the most beautiful cats.
ReplyDeletemistress maddie:
DeleteThey ARE beauties, aren't they? I guess they're the beautiful reflection of ...
Did you not realize that it's the job of Moose and Dudo to keep you from killing some random stranger? San Geraldo hired them for that purpose. They spell each other off in keeping an eye on you. They're very good at their job because you're not in prison yet.
ReplyDeleteDebra:
DeleteSo, that's why someone is always watching me.
A very wise comment from the kid brother!
ReplyDeletePlants are beautiful.....love how exotic they look from here 'on the tundra'!!
Jim:
DeleteChuck is my conscience. Whenever I say something snotty about someone, he admonishes me. He's much nicer than I am.
The cats probably assumed you'd purchased them a little something. and that's why Moose is watching so closely ... so you cannot escape!
ReplyDeleteBob:
DeleteThe cats are long overdue for a new toy. I guess I should do something about that.
Cats would make excellent spies
ReplyDeleteAdam:
DeleteOr cat burglars?
Question: if you now take everything out of the box, will the boys sit in it? :) My kitties would go nuts for the box. That is the best treat we can ever bring them, a new box.
ReplyDeleteSnoskred:
DeleteAbsolutely. They get in boxes, bags, and anything else that comes their way. Dudo, especially goes wild.
