Shop 'Til You Drop / Comprar Hasta Caer

I WAS SO excited. Today, San Geraldo dropped me off at the shopping mall, La Cañada, in Marbella and I got to walk for an entire hour. Slowly. On flat pavement. Out of the sun. Protected from the wind. The eye is better every day. It's still mostly a blur, but I'm starting to be able to make out shapes. I'm still not supposed to do much of anything. And my "shopping spree" was more than I could handle. After 15 minutes, I was exhausted and so was my left eye. I bought greeting cards for the Kid Brother (I send one every week), returned three T-shirts I had picked up last time for San Geraldo (he didn't like the collars), and sat and waited for the return of the Saint. Tomorrow it's back to bon bons.

ESTABA TAN EMOCIONADA.

EARLY THIS MORNING FROM MY WINDOW.
TEMPRANO ESTA MAÑANA DE LA VENTANA.
ONE IS ALREADY SENT.
UNA YA ESTÁ ENVIADO.

  1. *Sigh*, as my grandmother use to say "Hard head makes soft behind". Take care, an eye is nothing to mess around with. I've been getting injections in mine every month for a year and a half. Finally, I only have to do my left eye now. I feel your pain. Bon bons, yum!

  2. Amazing eh how our body will 'tell' us we are overdoing it. As I said in all my fitness classes back in the 80's/90's: 'Listen to your bodies'. Very important.I bet the kid brother really looks forward to your weekly cards. This way he doesn't HAVe to talk with you!! lol

The Kid Brother loves the cards and the FaceTime (which is working again). And I'm responsible for the Spanish and American postal systems. If he doesn't get a card during the week, he lets me know. AND... last week two arrived on the same day. What was up with that?!?

  3. White ship on pink sea and happy cards. Good that you can see the beauty around you even while one-eyed.

And there is so much beauty still to be seen with the currently lone good eye. Maybe next week, I'll be out enjoying it a bit more. But sure can't beat the view.

They're from a Danish gift shop called Tiger and only 1 euro a piece. The postage is more (by nearly half) than the card.

Aren't they great. And cheap! A euro a piece. Do you have a shop called Tiger (Danish) around? Fun stuff.

My mother told me, although she was sure he liked getting mail, the postage was just too expensive for me to be sending him something every week. SO worth it.

  8. The best part of this for me was the tender thought of you sending a card to your brother on a weekly basis. Bravo.

Thanks. I didn't think much of it, but people tend to react with surprise.
