The Drowned Rat / La Rata Ahogada

La versión español está después de la primera foto.

YESTERDAY,  AFTER MY walk, I looked like a drowned rat. Well, come to think of, that's a lie. I'd have to have hair to look like a drowned rat. But I think I felt how a drowned rat would feel.

Today, instead of walking east, I walked west and along the way I did see a drowned rat desperately trying to protect his pile of cheese from the rain. It wasn't going well.

No iba bien.

THIS GUY (A CITYSCAPE SAND SCULPTOR) HAD A BETTER IDEA.
ESTE HOMBRE (UN ESCULTOR DE ARENA DEL PAISAJE URBANO) TUVO UNA MEJOR IDEA.

  1. Well, that sure beats the sand sculptures, like huge cocks I see in PTown or Fire Island.

    2. Maddie,
I searched all my local sand sculpture photos. We’ve had cows, ducks, sheep, and lots more farm animals, and even hippos and gators. But never a cock.

  2. That rat looks like he's guarding a big pile of dice. People are so creative.

  4. I don't know that rats are that choosy about how their meals are prepared. Mice, maybe, but not rats.

    1. Anne Marie,
What we have now on the beach are a bunch of guys building alpine villages (like the one that’s covered up). I’m not a fan. I love this guy’s humor.

  6. Poor drowned rat - his cheese is melting. But he looks more like a weasel. Hope you are nice and dry now.

    1. Walt the Fourth,
I’m pretty sure he got out. But maybe I should have checked. Although with the amount of rain expected today, I don’t think his plastic tent is going to do any good.

I love them, too. We don’t get many fun ones since Paul Blaine left the beach for a “real” job.

    1. Spo,
Really, I’ve never seen one either. But sadly I have seen drowned woodchucks, which are more what the sand sculpture looks like anyway.
