WE'VE HAD SOME rain here (not much locally, but terrible flooding in the area) and quite a lot of wind. It was a beautiful morning and, although the sky is still a vivid blue, San Geraldo's cyclonic winds are back.
You might remember the photos of the two sand sculptures I shared 10 days ago. One sculptor was determined to weather the storm. The other took his chances. Here's what's happened since. I'm not quite sure who I'm more like. Probably the latter.
THIS MORNING. IT PROBABLY LOOKS LOOK LIKE A BLIZZARD RIGHT NOW. ESTA MAÑANA. PROBABLEMENTE PARECE UNA TORMENTA DE NIEVE AHORA MISMO. |
TEN DAYS AGO. HOW HE MADE IT THROUGH THE RAIN. HACE DIEZ DÍAS. CÓMO SOBREVIVIÓ A LA LLUVIA. |

TEN DAYS AGO: REMEMBER THE RAT WHO DIDN"T PLAN FOR THAT RAINY DAY? HACE DIEZ DÍAS: ¿RECUERDES LA RATA QUE NO HIZO UN PLAN PARA ESE DÍA LLUVIOSO? |
HE'S GONE AND THIS IS WHAT'S LEFT OF HIS CHEESE. SE HA IDO Y ESTO ES LO QUE QUEDA DE SU QUESO. |
sand sculptures are never permanent, like the tides.
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie,
DeleteWish we had more of them. Sand sculptures, not tides.
What Anne said
ReplyDeleteAdam,
DeleteAnd the amount of time some spend creating this temporary masterpieces.
Amazing what a little covering can do.
ReplyDeleteKirk,
DeleteI was surprised it worked so well.
So, sad! The cheese semi-stands alone.
ReplyDeleteDeedles,
DeleteGood it wasn’t a soft cheese!
Only the holes of the cheese remain.
ReplyDeleteWilma,
DeleteI thought that was pretty funny. Too bad about the two big ruts someone added.
The blizzard one!!!!! Creative.
ReplyDeleteMaddie,
DeleteA very popular theme. But I really like the figurative ones more.
Time to search for the new cheese (my favorite line from Who Moved My Cheese)
ReplyDeleteTravel,
DeleteI never read it, but I always liked the title.
Rats feeling a sinking ship ... or sand sculpture/
ReplyDeleteBob,
DeleteIt would be funny if the rat showed up somewhere else... and sheltered.
New ones in the spring to look forward to.
ReplyDeleteWe are getting TONS of rain with cyclonic winds too!
Jim,
DeleteThere used to be so many more. Then the City started requiring sculptors to register... and pay. The best did so for one year and were furious when others continued to create without registering or paying. That’s how we lost the best. Now I don’t think the City bothers.
Like sands through the hourglass...
ReplyDeleteWalt the FOURTH,
DeleteSo go the days of our lives...
You guys!
