LOOKING FOR A bit of "me" time Thursday, I really identified with two ring-tailed lemurs who sat quietly on a log only to be overrun by their extended family. But when their extended family left as suddenly as they arrived, my two friends looked a bit lonely, which I guess is not much different from how I feel. I want to be alone... until I'm left alone.
I wonder if a couple of the males had had a "stink fight." They really do that. They cover their tails with their scent and then waft it at their opponents. I'm sure we all know someone who does that.
Twelve lemur photos. Because it struck me funny. (Click the images for bigger lemurs.)
DUDO THIS MORNING. "OH, BIRDIES, I'M LONELY..." DUDO ESTA MAÑANA. "OH, PAJARITOS, ESTOY SOLITARIO..." |
Dudo cracks me up!
ReplyDeleteSillygirl,
DeleteMe too he was sound asleep on my lap yesterday as I sat at my desk. A crag Martin chirped outside. Without missing a beat, Dudo flew in Fe my lap heading for the terrace. I don’t think he hit the floor for 10 feet. Three minutes later, he was asleep in my lap.
Being the pudgebear that I am, I'm hibernating for the next few months. These photos have brought me out for a moment. These are fabulous! There is such movement in them. Dudo is always a star, of course.
ReplyDeleteDeedles,
DeleteI sure hope your not feeling too poorly! Sending you hugs. So grateful to know you through blogging.
Cute little buggers.
ReplyDeleteDudo, too,of course.
Bob,
DeleteSay... what about ME??? Aren’t I a cute little bugger... um .. buggerer... um..... never mind.
Love Love Love your photos today.
ReplyDeleteDudo is just so funny.
In Arizona we have Ringtail Cat and my favorite is the Coatimundi.
cheers, parsnip and badger
Parsnip,
DeleteThose lemurs were for me live art! Thanks so much.
I just bet Dudo and Moose would love one Mitchell!!
ReplyDeleteMaddie,
DeleteIt gonna happen ... if we have anything to say about it.
They are such amazing looking creatures!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
DeleteThey have an incredible space, too. When they took off, they were running up a cliff wall to an entirely different, tropical area. You can actuall walk among them up there (in very controlled groups).
lemurs! dudo! FRIDAY!
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie,
DeleteAnd there were tigers and orangutans and more in beautiful environments. A great rescue and education park, too.
They're kind of odd-looking creatures. Like monkey zombies.
ReplyDeleteKirk,
DeleteInteresting description. And when I looked again, I saw what you mean!
Lemurs know how to have fun! Smelly but FUN!
ReplyDeleteJim
DeleteAnd the females are in charge. Not the stinky males!
Gorgeous lemurs. I bet it would be fun to sit and watch them for hours from a nice shady spot. I wonder what Dudo would think of them. Have your boys been around other or dogs at all?
ReplyDeleteWilma,
DeleteThere was a neighbor cat who used to wander the building. She and Dudo would sit on opposite sides of my office window and talk to each other. Dudo I think would be very social. Moose was indifferent. They’ve never seen a dog up close, only from the terrace.
Lemurs creep me a out a little with their stares, like the animals from the walmart of nature.
ReplyDeleteAdam,
DeleteFunny, I love their stares. Ugh, Walmart!
I was feeling pretty down today, but your photos brought a smile to my face - which is still there! So thank you, sweet Mitch.
ReplyDeleteRozzie,
DeleteSo glad my photos improved your day. That and your comment improve mine. Thank YOU, sweet Rozzie!
Wow, Mitchell, you give us the best photos!
ReplyDeleteJudy,
DeleteThanks as always. These lemurs sang to me!
