OUR PLANTS ON the terrace are thriving and grew like, um, weeds(?) through the summer. They are mostly now cacti and succulents. They can be, as I've mentioned before, somewhat dangerous around people like me. But their beauty makes them worth the risk. Besides, I haven't poked an eye out.
Además, no he echado un ojo fuera.
All of your cactus (cacti?) are so beautiful! And the view is outstanding.
ReplyDeleteJennifer,
DeleteView is wonderful and perfect location for the cacti and succulents
Such a great view, such good light,
ReplyDeleteTravel,
DeleteVery lucky. And natural light all day.
Beautiful ... but deadly/
ReplyDeleteBob,
DeleteSomehow Jerry survives with few injuries.
It looks so lovely out there! Do you actually spend time at the table?
ReplyDeleteI just scrolled back to older posts, thinking that I must have missed one about a plant attacking you... sure enough! Arm wound!
Judy,
DeleteWe spend almost no time at the table. What a waste.
You have a real thing for dangerous plants, don't you!
ReplyDeleteDebra,
DeleteAnd even the most benign looking can be dangerous... for me.
Gorgeous
ReplyDeleteJonathan,
DeleteThanks! We love it.
Your patio is beautiful - a human and kitty paradise
ReplyDeleteCheapchick,
DeleteIt’s all for the cats. Cactus is a good back scratcher... apparently.
The platter on the wall nicely accents the gorgeous cactus with its deep burgundy leaves. Terrific ambiance on your terrace.
ReplyDeleteW,ma,
DeleteI like that platter. Thanks. Got it at our Saturday market a while back.
Cool plants
ReplyDeleteAdam,
DeleteAnd they love it here.
I love the cactus with the purple ruffles! It's not just stained from pricking you for your blood is it?
ReplyDeleteDeedles,
DeleteThe bold color may be from previous victims. This one hasn’t attacked me.., yet.
you certainly have a green thumb for the cacti! and sweet dudo in the sunpatch blissfully asleep.
ReplyDeleteAnne Marie,
DeleteThe cactus thrive here. So does Dudo m
I used to have a plant like yours but no red leaves only green ones. It was called the African Milk Bush and it was a succulent. If you broke off part of the plant it dripped a white sap.
ReplyDeleteYour plants is very beautiful.
cheers, parsnip and badger
Parsnip,
DeleteWe had a green versión years ago I’ll have to look it up. This too has that milky white sap.. and it can burn if left on the skin. It doesn’t tend to bother Jerry. It did tend to bother me.
Beautiful! How will you prune the cacti down when the start to touch the ceiling? Can they just be cut without harming them?
ReplyDeleteWalt the Fourth,
DeleteWell have to do a brutal horizontal cut low enough to be hidden from view. But that will probably cause multi-branching growth. And clearly the cut will be needed this year.
What magnificent cacti! Yes, I think they do like it there.
ReplyDeleteWhen ROn prunes ours he puts the pruned part in cactus soil and PRESTO! They will grow as well!
Jim,
DeleteI like to do the same as Ron. We end up with a lot of plants!
