Down The Drain / Por El Desagüe

DUDO'S HOPES ARE down the drain. The crag martins headed north quite a while ago, but now their cousins, the house martins, are in town for the summer. Unlike their cousins, they don't hang out (and poop) on our awnings, nor do they rest on the drain pipe. They spend most of their time feeding on flying insects. But Dudo can sometimes see them and often hear them. And that's all that matters.

Me? I'm more interested in all the big fruits around town.

  1. I love that last picture! It's been in the nineties here, and that water looks so nice and cool. The birds are nice too, and any glimpse of the furbabies is always welcome.

It has been beautiful here but not hot. Today was another perfect beach day and another great day for watermelon.

We don't get a lot of big fruits in town. Some, but not a lot.

  3. The view you have of the birds in flight and the ocean is lovely.
I miss living by the ocean.
So happy you added Dudo (?)
Too bad some jerk had to spread his graffiti over the wall.

I DO hate that graffiti tagging. The City stays on top of it here, but I would so love to catch them in the act.

  4. I feel for Dudo. Maybe you should get him a catnip mouse or something to amuse himself with now.

No worries. I'll soon share the gift I gave Dudo today. He's on Cloud 9. So is Moose.

  5. "Me and My Shadow" - love the photos of the house martins in flight. Good thing that drain hole is too small to fit a cat head.

You're so right about the size of the drain hole. We both were relieved to see that. Of course I have another 100 photos of house martins in flight and some with really great shadows!

Yep. You missed that. The crag martins are the ones that left. The house martins are the ones that are in town for the summer.

It's just a bit further than a flight to Washington DC. Only a bit.
