Chili Con Candle / Chili Con Candela

La versión español está después de la primera foto.

SAN GERALDO MADE chili con carne for dinner last night. It was delicious. As is his tendency, he decorated the kitchen with the ingredients. When I lit the kitchen candle this morning, the fragrance reminded me of dinner.

BEFORE I CLEANED LAST NIGHT. I WOULD HAVE MOVED THE CANDLE OUT OF THE WAY BEFORE COOKING, BUT THAT'S JUST ME.

SUNRISE TODAY AND ONE OF THE CATS' BIRDS.
AMANECER HOY Y UNO DE LOS PÁJAROS DE LOS GATOS.

DUDO AT SUNSET TUESDAY.
DUDO AL ATARDECER EL MARTES.
AND THE OBSESSED BROTHERS AT SUNRISE TODAY.
Y LOS HERMANOS OBESIONADOS AL AMANECER HOY.

Well, I suppose that wouldn’t take much effort on his part.

    1. John,
What he would leave your kitchen looking like would make a person cry.

  5. Everything here (New Mexico) is smothered with green chili. (Also chili here is not the con carne variety). I'm sure there is a gift shop somewhere in this state that sells green chili candles and red chili candles. Personally, after 3 years, I think I've had enough green chili.

Yeah, that would get tiresome. Oh but I do miss jalapeño jam!

  6. At least it wasn't splatters from a dinner the boys caught.

How I wish the boys had more time to get to know you! Jerry is the Jackson Pollack of the kitchen.

More dramatic mornings than not. I keep the camera on the night table this time of year.

    1. KMoff,
I’m not getting my beauty rest as a result of these sunrises. I stand on the terrace for an hour some days... like today! Could have stood there longer for the entire effect.

  13. Kudos to him for cooking. Hubby is similar, every pot and pan in the kitchen is used for a 2 course meal lol

I’m grateful to Jerry for cooking. I would live on takeout and microwave meals. And I don’t mind clean up. ... And I love sharing stories of his mess.

  14. Wow. what an incredible sunrise you get to see at the time. Looks very relaxing to see that. Those kitties are going to have a fun day with being obsessed with that hole looking for something to come out. Thanks for sharing the loving photos. Have a great day.

Hard to go back to sleep most mornings. And the cats will be busy for the season. The crag martins are roosting in the awnings outside our terrace windows and they love to sit on the drainpipe that extends from that hole.
